Omer Bayraktar
Omer Bayraktar studies brain tumour heterogeneity and brain cellular diversity. He is known for creating single cell and spatial multi-omic atlases of the human brain in health and disease and is an international leader in the field of spatial transcriptomics and glial biology. He has developed computational tools including cell2location to map cell types in spatial transcriptomics and cell2fate to resolve temporal cellular trajectories from single cell data. These approaches have revealed stereotyped trajectories of cancer cells in glioblastoma and suggested a new model for the regulation of cancer plasticity in brain tumours.
