Manju George
Manju George
Manju George Biography: Manju was diagnosed with stage IIIB rectal cancer at age 44 in 2017. Soon after her diagnosis, she joined COLONTOWN, seeking connection and guidance at a time when she knew no one else with colorectal cancer. Through COLONTOWN, she found not only support that made her own cancer journey more empowering and manageable, but also a calling: using her training as a biomedical researcher to translate complex cancer concepts into clear, accessible language for patients and caregivers. This marked the beginning of her path in patient advocacy.
Now more than eight years NED (no evidence of disease), Manju is actively involved in national and international efforts focused on colorectal cancer including early onset CRC and clinical trials.
As Scientific Director of PALTOWN, she continues to educate and empower patients through COLONTOWN and its educational platform, COLONTOWN University. Since 2025, as an assistant professor at the University of Mississippi Medical Center’s John D. Bower School of Population Health, she chairs the Mississippi Colorectal Cancer Roundtable and works to improve colorectal cancer screening rates across the state. You can read about her cancer story in the AACR Cancer Today 2025 Winter issue: https://www.cancertodaymag.org/winter-2025-2026/
