Dr Lorenzo de la Rica

Lorenzo is the Research Lead at Cancer Grand Challenges, Cancer Research UK and is the liaison between funders and a portion of the funded teams in the portfolio. He supports the planning, coordinating and effective delivery of Cancer Grand Challenges' scientific strategy and objectives, including the Future Leaders’ Programme.

Lorenzo has been at Cancer Research UK for six years, having previous worked in the Research Careers team to enable early career researchers to become cancer research leaders. He has gained valuable experience at prestigious institutions such as the Royal Society, the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council and the National Institute for Health Research.

Lorenzo holds a PhD in Biomedicine from the University of Barcelona and his scientific background spans immunology, epigenetics and repetitive elements of the genome.
