About

Date: 29 September – 1 October 2027

Location: The Royal Society, 6-9 Carlton House Terrace, London SW1Y 5AG UK

Inspired by research from across the Cancer Grand Challenges portfolio, this conference will bring together experts across disciplines to examine the interplay of mutagenesis and promotion, moving towards an integrated mechanistic framework of cancer development. It will explore how genetic alterations interact with tissue context, environmental exposures, and clonal selection to drive cancer risk and progression. The meeting aims to catalyse new collaborations and identify opportunities for cancer prevention, early intervention, and therapeutic innovation.

Scientific Steering Committee

This conference is being organised by a dedicated steering committee, chaired by:

Allan Balmain
