
Chris Norris
Meet Chris, a patient advocate on PROSPECT
Chris was diagnosed with stage IV bowel cancer in 2014 after multiple visits to his GP reporting abdominal pains.
He has had a range of treatments including HIPEC, targeted radiotherapy, multiple courses of chemotherapy and targeted drugs for the BRAF mutation. He is part of Bowel Cancer UK’s Never Too Young patient steering group to raise funds and direct resources to research and peer support for younger people affected by bowel cancer. He has also been a volunteer moderator for the Bowel Cancer UK online forum.
Chris is a senior programme manager for the innovation foundation Nesta, with experience in managing innovation programmes and funding across a range of social policy areas including employment and skills, social isolation and public services. He is also active in his community as a trustee of a local environmental charity, helping to found, fundraise for, and manage an environmental volunteering programme including therapeutic gardening sessions for local hospital patients. He is also a local political campaigner.
