Alex Chaharom

Meet Alex, a patient advocate on NexTGen

Alex Chaharom is a passionate advocate dedicated to supporting research and raising awareness for Ewing sarcoma. Inspired by his daughter’s journey with this disease, Alex has committed to fostering meaningful change in rare disease treatment.

Alex’s advocacy focuses on identifying and supporting promising research projects with the potential to reach phase II clinical trials within 2-3 years. By collaborating with researchers, clinicians, and funding organisations, Alex works to accelerate the development of innovative therapies that can improve outcomes for Ewing sarcoma patients.

In addition to research advocacy, Alex is launching a newsletter dedicated to Ewing sarcoma, aimed at highlighting advancements in research and fostering community engagement. This initiative complements Alex’s efforts to raise awareness and provide support to families navigating the challenges of this rare cancer. Through public speaking, fundraising, and community outreach, Alex creates opportunities for connection and education, helping to build a stronger network for those affected by Ewing sarcoma.

Alex combines personal experience with a professional background in medical device development and regulatory affairs, particularly in early start-up companies, to bridge the gap between science and patient advocacy. He believes that every patient deserves access to safe and effective treatments and strive to ensure that no family feels alone in their journey.

Outside of advocacy, Alex enjoys spending time with family, reading, and biking. His work is driven by hope and the belief that collaboration and innovation can transform the future for Ewing sarcoma patients and their loved ones.
