Tracy Solak
Meet Tracy, a patient advocate on MATCHMAKERS
Tracy Edler Solak was diagnosed with invasive breast cancer at age 40. After completing treatment, she wanted to find a way to use the knowledge she gained during her journey to help others.
Tracy’s advocacy work started with a small nonprofit that paid nonmedical bills for breast cancer patients who were struggling financially due to their treatment regimens. She later became involved with the National Breast Cancer Coalition, working on both its research and public policy agendas. She is a 2010 graduate of NBCC’s Project LEAD, a 2017 graduate of Advanced Project LEAD, and has participated as an advocate member of NBCC’s Artemis Project for several years.
Tracy also serves on the Young Survival Coalition Council of Advisors and is a YSC RISE Legacy Advocate working on YSC’s research agenda. In addition to her work with NBCC and YSC, Tracy currently serves on the Integration Panel of the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP) Breast Cancer Research Program, after serving for many years at both the peer review and programmatic review levels.
Tracy received her J.D., magna cum laude, and her Masters of Jurisprudence in Healthcare Compliance with high honors, from Stetson University College of Law. She received her B.A. in English from the College of William and Mary
