Professor Benjamin Haibe-Kains is a prominent researcher in computational biology and bioinformatics, known for his work on developing machine learning models for precision oncology. He specialises in integrating large-scale genomic, pharmacogenomic, and clinical data to develop predictive models for personalised cancer treatment. He is also a leading advocate for open science, emphasising the importance of data accessibility and reproducibility in computational research.
Professor Haibe-Kains is a Scientist at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre (PM) in Toronto and holds academic appointments at the University of Toronto. He holds the Canada Research Chair in Computational Pharmacogenomics and a new scholar of the Royal Society of Canada. He is the Scientific Director of the PM Cancer Digital Intelligence Program for the responsible deployment of artificial intelligence models in the clinic.
