Meet Joya, a member of the Advocacy Panel
Joya Delgado Harris is Director of the Colorectal Cancer Care Initiative (CCCRI) at Fight Colorectal Cancer. The CCCRI is a collaborative program that partners with survivors, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and industry leaders to address pressing challenges in colorectal cancer screening and care through data-driven strategies and actionable goals.
Previously, she served as Executive Director of the Cancer Gold Standard™ at the CEO Roundtable on Cancer, leading a national workplace wellness accreditation program focused on oncology education, prevention, early detection, high-quality care, and well-being. She co-spearheaded the Going4Gold initiative, a multi-year partnership between Minority-Serving Institutions and corporate partners to extend the program's reach. As Director of Research Integration at the American Cancer Society, Joya drove enterprise-wide strategies by aligning research, mission delivery, and external engagement - translating outcomes from the Office of the Chief Medical Officer to support organizational priorities. She has also held leadership roles at Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization, the Association of Village PRIDE, and the Metropolitan Atlanta Chapter of the American Red Cross.
As an 18 year breast cancer survivor, Joya’s journey fuels her passion for ensuring that the patient voice and perspective are integral to health research and care decisions. She serves as a consumer peer reviewer for the DoD's Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP), an advocate reviewer for CPRIT, a member of the Cancer Grand Challenges Advocacy Panel (Cancer Research UK/NCI), and a member of the Trial Selection Board at the National Center for Tumor Diseases (Germany). She is also a former member of NCI's Council of Research Advocates (NCRA).
Joya earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wellesley College and received a Master of Public Health degree with a concentration in public health policy and management from the Rollins School of Public Health of Emory University.
